Much Love Monday

The great heavens must have known my love for pink and blessed me with three girls so that I may continue to indulge with anything and everything about my favorite color. And while my two older daughters have outgrown their pink-and-girly phases, my littlest daughter continues to fuel my passion for pink. Here she is, clad in her ballet 'uniform', and there's a tiny heart smack in the upper middle of her leotard :)

Right this moment, I am loving the thought of summer! The heat is upon us on this part of the globe and with this come a tad of plans:

• School ends in a few more weeks and there are plans for summer classes for the girls. The eldest kid will continue with her Taekwondo training and I'm hoping daughter #2 gets into it as well. Daughter #3 will go on with her ballet classes. With much encouragement from her current ballet teacher, I'm thinking of putting her in a more serious school for more proper training.  

• To alleviate the heat and to celebrate the end of classes, we have made plans for a getaway on the beaches of Puerto Galera in Mindoro Oriental on the last weekend of March. Although still about a month away, I am so looking forward to just chilling on the fine sand. I am also excited to do a bit of trekking to get to the cove where we can snorkel and feed some colorful fish.

• In May, there are also plans to make a trip to Baguio, our country's "Summer Capital". The hubby's side of the family are planning to get together in the "City of Pines" for a wonderful respite from the heat. This will be a happy time as well to see my girls bond with their cousins.

Yes, vacations are already foremost on my mind. These plans serve to motivate me to go through the daily work grind so that we may have the means for these little luxuries.

From India, With Love

One of my best girlfriends is currently in (edit: Bangalore) Chennai in India for a business trip. I asked begged her to get me a woodblock print textile as a (belated) birthday gift and pasalubong.

Early this morning (late night her time), she emailed me pictures of what she got from her shopping trip. I am really excited to use this as our bedspread. The colors are so cool for summer.

I have to wait a month though until she gets back. Super thanks, 'Nie! In the meantime, enjoy the food, the sights and the shopping trips!

(Not So) Fancy Crepes

Last Friday night, we took out our girls after dinner for some dessert at Fancy Crepes along Matalino Street in Quezon City.

Our order came after a few minutes of waiting. The crepes were topped with whipped cream and chocolate syrup. The fancy plating and scribbling of our girls' names using chocolate syrup brought a smile to our faces.

Mango Madness

All five of us shared the two crepes. Naturally, the crepes were demolished in a little more than 60 seconds. I asked the girls if they wanted more but Daughter #1 had already formulated her own review. The crepes were not too fancy for her taste at all. She opined that she had better-tasting crepes at much more affordable prices. Daughters #2 and #3 readily agreed. (Such discerning palates at such young ages! Tsk. Tsk.) 

That didn't stop us from having a good time though. In between spoonfuls, we exchanged silly jokes and stories. It was a perfect start to the weekend. We ought to make this Friday nightcap a ritual from now on.

Much Love Monday

Lots and lots of love went around last week with all the hoopla surrounding Valentine's Day. Thanks to the Much Love Monday bandwagon, the love continues to go around even after February 14. Kudos to this cool group!

What I'm loving now:

The revamped look of this blog. I changed my header as I was inspired by the vintage banner from Free Pretty Things For You. I hopped on to Shabby Blogs for some buttons too. There's also less clutter on the right column and I made new tabs below the header. I'm still not completely done yet though, a few more changes will be added over the next few days.

What I'm absolutely loving now:

The ring given by the hubby last February 14! To this day, I am still speechless.
