Dang Dee Value Meal

Yesterday's cheap but filling lunch was delivered from Dang Dee, a Taiwanese-themed fast food in Legaspi Village in Makati City. Referred by a friend who works in that area, she sent us a copy of the restaurant's menu:

For a minimum of two orders, Dang Dee delivers within the vicinity. However, it took much convincing for the staff to deliver to our office in Pacific Star Building which was actually quite a distance from their branch. We waited about 45 minutes for our order.

Since it was our first time to try, we chose the Classic Bento which was composed of a good serving of rice topped with pork roast (very much like the Chinese asado style) and a couple of deep fried pork slices. There was also a generous serving of vegetables, a half slice of an egg and what looked like garlic bits (which I was told, were spicy). For a mere Php 78, it also came with a Zesto juice.

What I most liked about it was the packaging. The food was presented in a box with a material similar to that of the Chinese take out boxes. The material was effective in keeping the food warm.

Grumbling tummies will surely be warmed and satisfied with meals from Dang Dee. It's quite a good alternative from the popular fast food chains with prices that definitely won't put a dent on an office worker's budget.

More Good Deals From MetroDeal

Last week, I seized this irresistible family-bonding deal which delighted my girls:

http://www.metrodeal.com/index.php?dealId=MTU4

From the regular price of Php 449, this deal slashed off 51% to bring the price down to Php 220. The vouchers are valid from June 25 until December 25, giving us ample time to plan our trip. I immediately clicked on the "Buy Now" button and purchased 5 vouchers for our brood. An email was sent to me which gave instructions and additional bank details and I paid by making an over-the-counter deposit. It was that easy!

Today, I couldn't resist again and clicked the button for this deal:

I've been wanting to try a photo book to showcase precious bonding memories of our family trips. When I wasn't too busy with work, I used to scrapbook and have tons of materials accumulated. Alas, life took over. And now that everything has gone digital, a photo book sure is in keeping with the times. I've seen photo books offered by  kiosks offering photo services, but I just haven't gotten around to doing it. With this deal, I am finally going to get to do it! In addition, what I find most attractive to this FotoSnaps Photo Book deal is that I get to layout the design and pictures using their software (with various templates) through their website. For me, this is digital scrap booking and I get to print it! I am actually tempted to purchase more vouchers! But, will curb that impulse for now.

Cool Shirts For A Cool Dad

It's Father's Day today and as a tribute to my HB, I am posting these funny cool shirts from CafePress:

With our three girly girls, HB is a dad three times over.

Indeed, for him,

Raising our girls to be smart, tough, and God-fearing is quite a daunting task for HB. In addition, HB has had to deal with complicated girly issues such as buying inner wear and different shampoo brands suited for their different hair types vis-a-vis no harsh chemicals. He has had to deal with each girl's unique brand of charm when they wanted something and he had to remain steadfast and firm. He also had to contend with our eldest's PMS and heartbroken tears. With these (and future) challenges, HB deserves to wear this:

I must say that HB is a very hands-on type. He had no qualms with diaper-changing when the girls were still babies. He was also very patient with waking up in the middle of the night to feed them. He loved giving them baths when they started to sit up on their own. He is extremely patient with answering the trivial questions of our two younger girls. He is quite protective with all of them. He found it most favorable when our eldest enrolled in a taekwondo class. We all heard him talk to our new puppy to help guard the girls. With his nurturing and protective nature, this is also most apt:

Have I mentioned before that HB is the king of our brood's stomach?

I saved this best funniest shirt for last. But, let me remind you all that this blog is intended for a "General Patronage" audience so before jumping to conclusions, please read the fine print:

Quite frankly, choosing just one shirt for my HB is difficult, just as it is a difficult job for him to bear the responsibility of raising our girls to be the best they can be. But I know too that fatherhood for him has been very rewarding. I guess I'll just leave it to our girls to give him his just reward for the day by making him feel special with their handmade cards and heartfelt words of gratitude.

Happy Father's Day!!!
